new story online

A heart-warming tale of the end of the world. Maybe it's not all THAT heart-warming.

rl intrudes

sorry I have been more or less absent from here for a few days. Real life in the form of emergency dentist appointments, sick pets, teenagers needing assistance, school plays, meetings to attend, and so on has reared its ugly head.

I am fairly close to caught up on submissions to the magazine and soon I think play out work will begin on issue 82. I'm depending on another person for this, which is why I say "I think".

Poems first published in Dreams and Nightmares issues 79, 80, and 81 appeared in 2008 and are therefore eligible to be nominated for the Rhysling award of the Science Fiction Poetry Association. If you belong, please nominate. If you don't belong, you should think about it. Visit the website here:

charity fundraiser

Dreams & Nightmares annual charity fundraiser

Buy an inscribed copy of my new book, Nursery Rhyme Noir (http://dreamsandnightmaresmagazine.blogspot.com/2008/11/forthcoming-book-nursery-rhyme-noir.html) for $14 postpaid, and I'll donate $4 to my local soup kitchen: the East Tuscaloosa Community Soup Bowl (http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20070819/NEWS/708190358/1007/RSS&source=RSS). I'll also renew my previous offer: a lifetime subscription to Dreams & Nightmares (http://dreamsandnightmares.interstellardustmites.com/) (including available back issues) for $90, with $25 donated.

Last year I was able to give the Soup Bowl $50. This year I'd like to do better.
