Summer in the City
Inside the office
It's crazy cold
The plant in the window
Has turned blue
Throwing leaves to the floor in protest
Ice on my coffee cup
A rink for silverfish
But they are frozen in their beds
I huddle over a space heater
That struggles to reach the infrared
Thinking black thoughts about electricians
And helium's climbing the walls
