mom stops breathing
the nurse says
they can still hear you for 3-4 minutes
after you say "I love you" five or ten times
then what?
now
I wake up in the wee hours
and sometimes think
did it help?
what will I be thinking
in those three minutes
will anyone say goodbye
will it help?
