Temp's dropping:
The jade plant curses us
From the front porch,
Ice crystals piercing
Its veins,
The cat briar fumbles at the latch
With stiffening tendrils,
And its last life,
The sweet olive tree,
Clothed in wintry flowers,
Grins and stretches out its arms,
Inside, I turn another page,
My cooling tea.
