Inside an oil field
This is a small slice of rock (the scale is 1/10th of a millimeter). Most of it's pink cos I stained it; that's limestone (calcite). Circled is a strange fossil called Tubiphytes, a fragment of something that usually grows in reefs. There's a reef here, but in this photo we see only this hint of it.
