You know what these are, right? Every now & then my weekly letter to the family has a smidge you all might want to know. Here tis:
My planned-for caregiver this morning was up all night with a toothache and canceled at pretty close to the last minute. Our wonderful healthcare system: if you don't have enough money to buy insurance then you can't go to the dentist. Actually, she has missed several days of work over the past year because of toothaches. The lost income would I think equal the cost of a dentist visit with a filling or two. I ended up having to stay in bed an extra hour and a half. Did some exercises.
Garden update: The Seven Sisters rose has started to bloom. 5 of our 6 different roses are now in bloom. We also have strawberries (not sure any are ripe). Lots of irises: yellow, purple, purple and red (or really purple and reddish-brown), pale blue, opening up in many places. Our best clematis has a bud.
The sewer line from our house to the street is apparently broken. Probably has been for months or more. Maybe since the 4-27-11 tornado pulled up the big oak tree that was growing very close to where the line must be. Sooooo, at unknown expense, and at untold damage to a newly refurbished flower bed, this thing needs to be repaired or replaced. If we had known before spouse started working on the flower bed (a little over a year ago) the sewer repairs could have been done in a wasteland where we didn't have to worry about what happened to anything. Instead of a bed full, full, of tender plants. On the plus side, work on our porch roof continues and most of what's left to do, at least that which is visible from outside, should be done by the end of next weekend.
