Alabama Lectures on Life’s Evolution (ALLELE) hosts hip hop artist Baba Brinkman performing “The Rap Guide to Evolution” next Thursday, October 10 at 7:30PM in the Biology Auditorium (room 127). The ALLELE series is in its 8th year of bringing an array of evolution experts to give these FREE & PUBLIC events to the University of Alabama community, but this is the first artist or creative performance we have hosted. Baba Brinkman is a YouTube sensation for his intelligent & witty videos explaining evolutionary principles (see below). Because he takes pains to fact check his lyrics by contacting the scientists conducting the research, he is also popular at science conferences, as a TED performer, & was a 2013 National Center for Science Education “Friend of Darwin” award recipient.
