Baby Chicks from Hell

Solid black marble and a perfectly formed egg. Centerpiece in the new museum, it became. When it started rocking the rafters started knocking. Hatching cracked the floor. The museum was open when the chick hatched, which was a good thing, for it was born hungry. Spellbound visitors were easy pickings, but soon the spell broke and the survivors fled. Outside, the chick was momentarily stunned by the world's size.

It was like the sky was falling.
