Book Review
Magic Burns, Ilona Andrews, Kate Daniels #2
I have read two of these now, and will definitely read the rest. I'm strongly reminded of Kim Harrison's Hollows books. Kate Daniels is strong, clever, alluring, prone to making major mistakes, and her past and abilities are mysterious. In this book, she rescues a (possible) orphan from forces out of legend that threaten her city and world. As waves of magic sweep Atlanta, building to a crescendo of deadly potentiality, she battles enemies like none she's ever seen. Creatures out of Irish legend manifest on both sides of the struggle. Meanwhile, monsters familiar and otherwise continue to be attracted to her. It takes more than a stick to fend these guys off.
