No one goes trick-or-treating anymore
not since Billy's dad dressed up as the Pied Piper
we were surprised: he always hated Halloween
never knew he could play the flute so well either
soon he had a throng of children
dressed up in all kinds of costumes
witches and goblins, of course, characters from new animated films, you name it
they followed him from house to house
then we lost track
had they gone into the next neighborhood?
never saw Billy's dad again
the kids either
his house stood empty
till someone burned it down
a few more children have been born
but we never let them out alone
