Heavy Side

Our side of the planet

Must be a lot heavier

Than theirs,

I think it's because

Uncle Frank is really fat,

And the Johanson's have a walrus farm,

Have you seen how big walruses are?

Our houses are made of stone,

Steel,

Plasticrete,

Theirs are only made of grass,

Which is not heavy at all,

Mom says be thankful,

I don't live in a grass house,

But I think it would be fun,

Except I like walruses,

And they don't have walruses,

They only have roly-polys.

Roly-polys aren't very heavy, even if they are big,

They're so light, they keep rolling onto our side,

That's why I think our side of the planet

Must be much heavier than theirs.

Every spring

The roly-polys slide and roll and bounce down to our side,

Some places they pile up really deep,

And then they get stuck and they grow roly-poly trees,

Ecology Minister pays us kids two credits

For each roly-poly we bring in,

They burn them.

Chelsea says, save some for next year,

So we can get credits next year,

But I'm older,

I know we'll have roly-polys every year,

Forever,

Because this is the heavy side.
