Microbial reef (T=thrombolite) containing cement-filled shelter voids (C) and an odd ooid (circular object in center). Ooid nucleus is spheroidal microfossil stuffed with quartz silt (white) and lime mud (dark). Long dimension of field of view 1 millimeter, Mississippian, North Alabama.
