Day one of the virtual paleontology workshop I'm co-chairing came to a successful close. The subject is trace fossils and how they change the fabric and texture of sediment (and rock). It's sad to not be able to meet face to face, but many attendees could not have been there if they had had to travel. At least nine countries on four continents are represented. The workshop is a meeting that happens every other year, rotating from place to place. The last time it was in the US was 2007. We'll do a field component in 2023, pandemic willing.
