Herbivoracious
Steve hopped the fence at midnight,
His neighbor had the most succulent garden:
Carrots! Lettuce! Beans! He could not resist,
Gorged himself till he could barely waddle,
Then he had a problem,
Too full to jump, paws couldn’t open the gate,
He crashed through and staggered for the trees,
All the dogs went crazy.
At dawn he woke, naked,
In the heart of a brier patch,
Suffered a thousand cuts getting free,
Thought no one saw him sprint to his house,
But Carol next door was distinctly unfriendly
When he saw her that afternoon,
And never offered him produce again.
