I have been really enjoying the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts, virtual version. I met Brian Biswas, a correspondant from years ago, for the first time. Saw John Kessel, whom I've known since the seventies, and have recently seen only at ICFAs. I have limited myself to attending readings, and in this way have been exposed to fantastic writers, many of them multiple award winners, whose work was unfamiliar to me. I can see there are quite a few novelists whose work I should get a hold of. I participated in the poetry reading, and got to see some old friends, as well as meet a couple of people whose work I had never seen before. I still prefer face-to-face conventions, but there is a lot to be said for the opportunity to attend one that you could not possibly travel to.
