Ain’t Gonna Take It
Walls fell in the city,
setting folks ascatter,
long and long ago;
no one now remembers
cobblers, cooks, innkeepers,
not by name,
but nearly 4,000 years ago,
Nanni, a respected
businessman of Ur,
brought the hammer down
on a copper dealer, Ea-nasir,
a lowlife crook, pond scum,
who sent him shit,
kept Nanni’s money,
and showed his ass.
Him we know,
very well indeed.
