Drilling for Real Estate

It seems this guy had the idea the Earth was hollow, and he set out to prove it. Inside, he explained, there was a whole world to be exploited. Investors ate that up. He bought a rig and some Kansas prairie and started drilling. Most folks thought he was cuckoo. However, the project hummed along fine for months—until the ground shook itself like a wet dog. Something sucked five miles of drillpipe down like a wet noodle. Everybody was running and screaming; the rig toppled. It was utter and complete disaster!
