When we were very small, I'm sure I was no older than five, my dad made us some very large blocks using 2x4s and pegboard. The blocks ranged in size from about a foot long to about half that size. He only made 10 or 15 of them, so we couldn't build anything out of them, but they were so much fun. We kept them in the basement, which had a cement floor. We'd place them just close enough together that we could step from one to the next if we stretched. Everything else was red hot lava, and if you stepped off a block you burned up. Looking back on it, I don't know how that game was so much fun, but it really was. At least, that's how I remember it.
