I think I was about 10 when I read Bram Stoker's Dracula, reading in bed far into the night when I was supposed to be asleep. When I finished, I knew that if I slept my dreams would be full of vampires. All I could do was grab a couple of books of Peanuts cartoons, already read several times each, and read them cover to cover. I don't have Dracula anymore, and I don't have the Peanuts books either, but I will never forget that night. when I finally fell asleep, I still half expected to wake up screaming, but that didn't happen. Not that night anyway.
