Improper Disposal

They finally killed the giant gator that had been roaming the New York City sewers. It had been subsisting on rats, smaller gators, and sanitation workers. Eventually, no workers would enter the larger tunnels at any price, and the city bought a fleet of sophisticated robots. These did not satisfy the gator’s appetite, being mostly roughage, and last Wednesday it broke into the subway system. Before it was brought down by antitank missiles, the gator, measuring 30 feet from tip to tail, wrecked two stations and devoured scores of commuters.
