A belated thanks and farewell to DC Moon, written to the sounds of DC Moon and Red Giant, or DC Moon and His Atomic Supermen. Whenever the lineup changed the name changed. Anyway, I didn't know any of them very well when I had an accident that broke my neck, but when they heard about it, they sent me a discarded drum head signed by all the band members, and they had a fundraising concert for me. I really appreciated it, but I don't think I ever told them how much. Two of them are gone now, including DC himself. I believe that he wrote nearly all the songs and he did most of the lead singing, as well as some of the guitar playing. He founded a science fiction punk rock band that was an important feature of the Tuscaloosa scene for several decades. Now that he's gone, I hope somebody will step up to the plate, though there won't be another DC Moon. I'll keep playing the music.
