One summer, back in the early 80s, 500,000 of us went to Washington to march for reproductive rights. We were there with our baby (now 40). I went all over the mall distributing scarves that our NOW chapter had silk-screened in our house. If you have one now, it's a collector's item! That was the only time I'd experienced heat exhaustion, and I've been careful since. It's a horrible feeling, not unlike having the flu. And I have the feeling this needs to happen again (not heat exhaustion--Americans standing up for their rights).
