Rereading "Stand on Zanzibar." Written when I was a kid. I first read it in college, in 1978. It holds up well. Details of what is now history are, of course, inaccurate. However, the overall sense of self-inflicted doom is spot on. And he predicted the rapidly increasing number of mass killings. I also still enjoy the multi-track form of the novel. John Brunner wrote quite a few forgettable books, but this is not one of them. 4/5. I thought I might give this book away, but I won't. I might want to read it again.
