tho perhaps he is not a man
this person moved ponderously
across the bridge
pausing at the top to throw something
into the river
the river parted to receive it
so it seemed or perhaps a large mouth
opened just below the surface
the figure, man or other
continued on its way
as did the sun, the moon, the stars
and every little thing
even you and I
towards an end that chaos
veils from us all
