Yesterday I read Pattern Recognition, by William Gibson. I have had it for about 2 years, but when I picked it up to reread it I discovered I had never read it the first time! This is the second time this has happened to me. About 15 or 20 years ago I ordered two Pogo books from a used-book dealer. I thought I read both of them, but a couple of years later when I picked one up I discovered I was mistaken. It was like getting the book twice.
