Years went by and I saw a doctor once a year. He didn't offer any advice and I didn't need any. That all changed when I rolled an SUV belonging to the state of Alabama off of a rural south Alabama highway. I woke up later that same day, but everything was different. Now, if a week goes by without a visit to a doctor it is noteworthy. And I am never without the shifts every 15 minutes, meant to prevent the growth of pressure sores. Do you know how hard it is to read a novel when I have to take 3 minutes out of every 15? What it does to my understanding of a fast-paced adventure movie?
