Time was, you just needed to have dark skin, or poverty, or immigrant status, or to be a child, or a woman, for America to treat you badly. But now. Now! You have to work hard to be discriminated against. What on Earth would there be for Dr King to do, if he was alive today? He would probably want school children to learn about all the civil-rights leaders, and what they did. That would be the least we could do.

Lord
Of Limburger
folk
speak of you too freely
not
in the hushed voice of your desire
but
slyly, loudly
your
putrid stench
that
isn’t you
it’s
just your cheesy shoes
your
garments shed an odor
and
so you are unwelcome
unfairly,
I’ve thought
though
I’ve kept silent about it
yet
folks speak of you
constantly
casually
disrespectfully
as
if laughing
behind
your back
