Dreams and Nightmares has finally returned from the printer. It took more than two weeks longer than the 2-5 days it usually takes. Here's what happened. Someone, possibly a student, was given the task of bringing the printed copies the 4 blocks from the print shop, as usual They didn't show up, and at first I imagined several reasons to explain their condition of no-appearance. Sickness, heavy workload, holiday, equipment failure, invisibility, and the most likely: delivery to the wrong place. The print shop had sent them out, via a carrier whose identity was unrecalled. They had no delivery ticked & no box of zines. They are supposed to bring them to my office. If I'm not there, they give them to the person next door. Occasionally, packages for me end up in the next bldg., where official packages go. Not this time. Many people don't understand that the Geological Survey & the Geology Dept. of the university are not one and the same. Not this time. The main Survey bldg. is Jones Hall, but there is another Jones Hall. That one's 3 miles away, downtown. No. So, the box of zines has never been found. They had to reprint them. The new box showed up late Friday afternoon. DN 111 goes in the mail Monday or Tuesday. The original box will probably surface the next day.
