Ancient finger bone

How much of me
comes from this ancient human species,
denisovan granddad, about whom we know so little,
how much from the Neanderthal,
or that other relative so unknown
no one has yet given it a name.
we already knew our genes
were about 90% bacteria and viruses,
of the little bit that's left,
how much of this chimera
is, strictly speaking, me?

Well all, of course:
get used to being a jigsaw puzzle,
you're hardly a "thing" at all,
explains a lot, doesn't it.
