The
Tindalos Obelisk
Since
its
inundation a new race came to dominate the planet. Now, the slow
movement of the lithosphere brought it
to the surface once more. Not for naught did Chalmers warn of angles,
which are doors. Discovered by oceanographers, the obelisk was
disinterred.
It
was child’s play for Dr. Miller to decipher the inscription, for
that ancestor of all languages cannot be misunderstood. She gnawed
off several fingers but could not prevent utterance of the final
couplet.
Physical
constants reverted, and we became manifest. Even as we consumed the
humans, their flesh dissolved; it could not exist for long in our
cosmos.
