Zombies Are Not-People Too
Creeping from the death layer, the thanatocoenosis, the fossil crabs swarmed over the sleeping paleontologists. “Brains,” they clacked lugubriously, and set to without another sound, quickly acerebrating their victims, despite their woeful lack of limbs. Wriggling back into the rocky slope, settling in before dawn, the sated decapods felt as good as undead horrors can. The inspector, called in from the city, scratched his head at the carnage. Nothing seemed to be missing, and the only damage to the gear was some bloody scratches and pinpricks on the tent floors.
