Dreamed I was retiring from the Geological Survey of Alabama. IRL I already did. In my dream the building was a lot grander, had more floors, than in real life. I had important samples in several labs, and I had to make sure others would be able to use them in the future. I told several people about them, but I was not confident that anybody would remember. Then I was hanging around waiting for the chance to tell my boss (not my real boss) where the specimens were, but she was really busy. Finally, I suck my head in her door. She was talking with someone who apparently was to be my replacement, and I said "It's time for me to leave." "Okay." I woke up thinking "Well, it's not my problem." This one is at least more readily interpreted.
This is one of the few dreams I've had about work since I retired. My wife was a school teacher, and she retired 2 years before I did. She still has a regular succession of dreams about not knowing 1) where her classroom is, 2) what she's supposed to be teaching, or 3) where her school is; the teacher equivalent of the usual student anxiety dreams.
My dreams tend to be about monsters, people with magical powers, or alternative dimensions. I often don't know where I am but it doesn't usually bother me.
