We Have the Tech


repetitive beeping from machinery
threatening dire behavior,
bed that fountains sand into drifts
on floor and self, and me!,
being told to stay in bed all day,
except for meals,
and other impossible rules,
these are a few
of my least-favorite things;
these daily hassles
drive me to the ink bottle,
to drown my sorrows,
vent frustration,
and curse Porlockian
importunities.
