Anachronism
It was no small thing that stranded them in the Pleistocene. The time machinr had been square in the path of the stampeding mammoth herd. Once a marvel of science, now fragments of plastic and metal, ground into the savannah soil. High-powered rifles, IR glasses, heat and refrigeration. The safari stayed fun till the last batteries died. The hyenas got Smith first, bones scattered in the tall grass. A viper, species new to science, struck next. In minutes Cheng swelled, turned purple, died screaming. One by one they fell.
the beast with two backs
pierced with a single blow
Smilodon
