the rain slows to a trickle
grass blades peek from the flood
well into March
in the hottest year on record
we'd be listening to spring peepers
if we hadn't vomited poison for years
and killed most of them

the rain of frogs
it wouldn't have been so bad
hardly counted as a plague
except each one was at least 30 feet across
when they hit
they splattered
plague of crows next of course
and the whole place
stank for weeks
