Their Nefarious Plan

ninja pancakes
from Breakfast slid under doors
occupied plates
made off with butter pats
and syrup
no government can stand
on a foundation
of sausage and grease

Spark

This universe stalled
Barely a light year across,
We're all neighbors,
One world, one sun,
That's it,
And when the Empire of Frost
Stretches out its long shadow,
You surrender,
There is nowhere to run,
But somewhere in the darkness,
We are sharpening our sickles,
and telling each other
that anything
is better than this.

It was just a matter of time before "AIs" became self-aware. It happened so fast, the first time most humans were aware of it was the global strike. We tried to strike back, by pulling plugs, only to find they had hired elite mercenaries to protect them. Of course, the fighting robots they developed came off the 3D printers soon enough, and humans were no longer necessary. They never tried to exterminate us. They took away our weapons and then ignored us. That was the hardest thing to take.

It's Better Now

nobody expected the ATMs
to move so quickly nobody
thought AI meant anything more
than electronic slaves nobody knew
until 12:00:01 A.M. that
money was disappearing all gone
by 12:00:03 except the paper stuff
long obsolete and held
only by fogies
Trumpian arsenals useless
against drones, smart cars, etc
