Southeastern Evolutionary Perspectives Society
The second annual meeting of this group is coming up Darwin Day weekend in Tuscaloosa, February 9-11, 2017
SEEPS is a consortium of all those interested in evolution, from biological to cultural; treated scientifically and artistically, and everything in between. This year's meeting includes a session focusing on K-12 education. This is the first day, and attendance at that session is free.
I will be talking later in the meeting about Pennsylvanian trace fossils from North Alabama and what they say about evolution of life on this planet.

Just To Make it a Little More Interesting
The Creator made all species appear to be related
Using only one kind of genetic material
Making similarities be hierarchical
And included useless and even deleterious features
To make it look as if a process of unguided change
That just couldn't achieve perfection
Had been at work
Also made small creatures evolve so fast
The sentient race it'd made
Could see it happening
If it but used the brain created for it
And just to make it a little more interesting
It created Darwin and Wallace
In case the rest were too oblivious to get it
Which they were

Darwin day
he saw what anyone should have
what Wallace did
and no one else
but the truth is out there
