 On a more informative note, I have now mailed almost every contributor and subscriber copy of Dreams and Nightmares 105. The remainder will go out tomorrow, except for the one lacking an address. I am pretty sure that Star*line is the only genre poetry zine in print longer that also has published more issues. The Magazine of Speculative Poetry has been in print longer, but issues come out pretty infrequently these days.

Kids Evolutionary Perspectives Society meeting this Thursday

Join us at the Alabama Museum of Natural History next Thursday, February 9 for a series of workshops about teaching evolution. The Kids Evolutionary Perspectives Society will host 4 workshops that are free & open to the public as a pre-conference activity before the Southeastern Evolutionary Perspectives Society 2^nd annual meetings on Feb. 10-11. Workshops will be held in the Museum Grand Gallery.

Using only one kind of genetic material
Making similarities be hierarchical
And included useless and even deleterious features
To make it look as if a process of unguided change
That just couldn't achieve perfection
Had been at work
Also made small creatures evolve so fast
The sentient race it'd made
Could see it happening
If it but used the brain created for it

It created Darwin and Wallace
In case the rest were too oblivious to get it

I thought that you might like to know about the Darwin Day event
taking place from noon to 5:00 p.m. on February 12, in the Alabama
Museum of Natural History on the campus of the University of Alabama
in Tuscaloosa.

There will be evolution talks, posters and presentations, movies,
activities, a cake competition, and trivia. There also will be a
keynote talk about "Evolution and Football" by Steven Platek,
Associate Professor of Psychology at Gwinnett College.
