My daughter lost her homeowners insurance, because the insurance company (Kemper insurance)  sent a bill to the wrong mortgage company,  and never followed up when they didn't get a response. She is filing a formal complaint with the Insurance Commissioner. You know, incompetent slackers do deserve to eat, and have roofs over their heads, but they should be employed picking up trash  and sweeping streets, not handling people's insurance. Grrr!

Anniversary

This is the 13th anniversary of the car accident that almost killed me. I didn't think about it till someone reminded me. I don't remember the accident, but I remember reading things written by people who were 10 or 15 years post accident. I tried to imagine what that would be like, but I couldn't. Now, I see that little has changed. I am more experienced, but my body is still able to surprise me. I spent a year acquiring and then recovering from a pressure sore, for instance. One side effect of that is that I now dislike bananas and bacon. Why!? I am thankful every day for workers' comp. Regular insurance is crap. It covers only a tiny fraction of what's needed. As for me, I do what Mr. Natural said.
